Christmas Tree Cup Cakes - DIY- Recipe


 
 
These are really cute and fun to make for the Holidays and Kids will love helping you.
Recipe and Step by Step Instructions Below


1. You Need 12 Cup Cakes Baked - Any Flavor
2. White Frosting ( Recipe Below)
3. Green Butter Cream Frosting  ( Recipe Below)
4. Red Sugar Crystals
4. Candy Stars ( I used Wiltons)- Or you can use Red Candy Balls from your Christmas Sprinkles
5. Piping Bag with Large Star Tip

STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS WITH PHOTO'S
1. Dip Cup Cake Top in your White Frosting- then with a spoon make sure it is covering to the edges
 
 
2. Now Dip into your Red Sugar Crystals
 
3. Pip on Green with a Big Flower Tip starting at Center and then work it up to form a Christmas Tree.  Add a Candy Star to the top
 

 
 Basic Frosting Mix  Recipe ( Makes about 3 Cups)
 
2 Sticks of Butter Softened
Powder Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
Green Food Coloring
 
** Remove about 1/2 Cup before you add the Green Food Coloring- You will  need this !
 
1 cup Butter (2 sticks or ½ pound), softened - you can use butter or margarine.
1 Cup of Powder Sugar
1 TBS Vanilla
5 TBS Milk
 
Add Everything to a Mixer and beat until stiff consistency. You may have to add a bit more of the powder sugar if too thin. When you have the right consistency - add in your food coloring to desired color.You will want to take your 1/2 cup of White Frosting you reserved before adding in green and pop in microwave for about 20 seconds to melt it.
