AVG Technologies and Childnet International have partnered together to help keep kids safe online

AVG Technologies and Childnet International partnered to publish an interactive e-book series, Magda and Mo, to help parents and children navigate tricky Internet safety topics such as cyber bulling and safe searching.

We were touched by this topic of bulling in school and  Internet cyber-bulling  with my step daughter. To watch this child go through this was just horrific. Bullies ( either in person or on the Internet are in real ) . They do damaging things and can hurt the self esteem of another and inflict a horrible fear to any age child. It was hard for us to pinpoint exactly who it was at times . That was the most frustrating thing. People make fake emails, fake social media pages to do harm to others. With out proper things installed on your computer - it is almost impossible to track them or stop them.

Once we were finally able to find out exactly who it was ( another student in her grade) , only then were were able to take the proper steps to stop this. Make parents accountable for what their kids are doing online. Kids are online much earlier today - and AVG is a great resource in teaching parents to teach our children. Protection online has to be #1 to keeping your browsing  safe and keeping kids from chatting online with people they should not be.

I am a strong believer that protecting our kids online starts at home. Teaching your children good practices on protecting their personal information ( as well as yours) is so important.  Having middle school age kids - the amount of work that teachers are asking to be done " online" is really growing. So teaching teachers as well is crucial, and ensuring you  have good parent controls in place.

What are Parent Controls?
Parental controls are designed to help protect children from inappropriate content they may come across online. These controls can be used to limit access to only age appropriate content, to set usage times and to monitor activity

With AVG Technologies and  PrivacyFix which helps control and lock-in your privacy on your PC, mobile device and tablet.
