Alabama- Gulf Shores Spring Vacation on a Budget #travel #alabama #gulfshores

This spring break I decided to take a couple kids on a road  trip to the Gulf Shore in Foley Alabama, They had never been to the ocean. I alsp have a near and dear friend who lives there that I have not seen in 15 years !!

I have been on many of vacations were I felt like I needed a vacation from my vacation, but this place was so relaxing and I never felt rushed. Everything we did I felt like it was on our own time

Gulf Shores-Alabama is a coastal community where genuine Southern charm unites with an array of attractions, events, accommodations, and restaurants that will keep you and your family coming back year after year. From the unique local shops and artists of quaint and historic downtown, to intriguing museum exhibits and laid-back water adventures, this destination in beautiful coastal Alabama provides plenty of activities and sites to choose from.

After having a very hard long winter wonderland - the ocean side and warm sun was just what I needed to energize again. Everyone in our area seems to huddle fast and furious to Florida- but OO decide a different route this year, a little less crowded and laid bag.

Some of our most memorable highlights.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach - We spent most of our time on the beach in Orange Beach.Just a short drive from Foley. Parking at the beach is only $5 and the white sandy beach will lull you right to where you need to be. The beach was so nice, the kids found many shells as well as boogie boarded in the ocean , while me and my hunny got to sit  in our beach chairs, toes in the warm sand  taking every bit of it in and letting all that stress go ! There's much to do from the ocean, go carts, miniature golf. Be sure you also visit the Wharf for a fun filled day of shopping , good eats and more !

Alligator Alley - Great fun for the family. Admission was only $8 for Adults and $6 for Kids - you can also grab any of the vacation brochures at any restaurant and find BOGO Free Coupons so our family was able to spend an afternoon there for only $14 . They also have gator food you can purchase for $4 that comes in a souvenir cup. The staff there were friendly and very nice. Everything was very clean, they have Gator Feeding shows four times a day. So be sure to check the feeding show schedule before you go. And Pork-chop will melt your heart !  This is one place you do not want to miss taking the kids to young and old , everyone will have a blast. We spent about 5 hours here , so much to do and so educational !

Alligator Alley has a great gift shop where souvenirs galore await you. There are many gifts to choose from such as t-shirts, hats, key chains, shot glasses...even Alligator Sausage! We brought back some for our friends and relatives.

Lamberts Cafe - Home of the Throw ed Rolls . This is a MUST to go to and so much family fun dining. Meals are so reasonable and so much entertainment to go along with it. I promise you will have a blast and not leave hungry. They make the most incredible huge THROWED ROLL Sever and walk around and THROW them to you. Along with many other  meal sides included in your meal from fried potatoes, fried okra, beets, corn, hot apple butter and molasses for your rolls. They have a great little gift shop as well.

They have a very large affordable menu and a kids menu also - you will not leave hungry. We just love all the extra sides that servers walk around non stop and refill your plates, then offer you doggy bags too !

I just had to pick up a jar of Apple Butter to take home with me . We wanted to go back a second time but time ran out. We will definitely visit again on our next trip. I could have just dined on the throwed rolls and warm apple butter - just ask anyone who was with us that night !

People who visit Lambert's Cafe for the first time are invariably amazed at the generous portions served on each order. These generous servings along with our "THROWED ROLLS" have inspired many questions

Open 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m

The Warf - we spent a  few hours at the warf. Full of great shoppes and the marina. Had a wonderful espresso and did some window shopping. They also have a Ferris wheel and rides are only $5 but grab a discount travelers coupon book at any location for BOGO Free Coupons. Unfortunately the Ferris wheel was closed for its yearly maintenance, but next time we will be able to take a ride. I suggest to visit at nights when all the lights are on. You can also dine at Toby Keiths I love this Bar and Grill restaurant while there. Everything is so unique and sea shore themed. Lots of great shopping.

Stay Tuned as I plan my next #Gypsy adventure to bring to you. Showing you that you can have a great time in even the most hidden gems !!!

The Only thing we regret is not having MORE time there -  ! Be sue to check  out Alabama Tourist Center for more information accommodations, dining and fun things to do !
