Magic Dough Recipe - Easy and Versatile for Fry bread, Naan, Rolls, Stuffed Bread , Sweet and Savery


I call this my Magic Dough because it is so versatile ! Easy one bowl, no mixer needed
I've made Fry Bread, Naan, Chaluppas, Rolls, Bread, Cinnamon Rolls, Pizza Dough and my newest creation of a mexican stuffed braided bread.


Create this in one bowl, no mixer,  super easy!!!

1+1/2 C. Warm Water
1/4 C. White Granulated Sugar
1/4 C. Vegetable Oil
2 TBS Yeast ( Reg or Fast Rise)
1 tsp salt
3 C.  All-Purpouse Flour

COMBINE, Water, Sugar Yeast, oil - stir and let sit to activate yeast 5-10 minutes.

IN Another Large Bowl - Ad Flour and Salt and Stir ( if you want dry spices in it, garlic etc ad now )

WHEN yeast is frothy , ad to the flour and stir with wooden spoon, at some point you will want to use your hands to form a ball. And sprinkle additional flour a little at a time to kneed until smooth and not sticky. Form in a ball. Toss back in bowl and cover. Let double in size . About an hour, shorter if fast rise yeast was used. AFTER IT HAS RISEN, PUNCH DOWN AND ...

NOW HERES THE MAGIC - Use it for a variety of recipes !!!



FRY BREAD - divide dough into 10 equal peices and roll each one out into a circle this size of a dessert plate. Fry in hot oil for about 1 minute on each side turning . Remove drain on paper towel.. repeat till all done keeping warm under a towel. Eat as is, or is for Navajo fry bread tacos !


Naan - Divide into 10 equal peices, and roll out thin to the size of a dinner plate. Heat a Non stick Skillet - and place in hot non greased skilled - bubbles will form , it's supposed to, turn after about a minute and cook other size- remove and repeat till all done . I keep mine wrapped in a clean dishes towel . You can brush each one with melted butter and garlic and chopped chives or eat plain.




ROLLS AND BREAD loaf - use the dough as you would for baking a loaf of bread ! PLACE IN PAN, LET RISE AND BAKE 350 DEGREES 15-18 MINITES



Pizza Dough - simply roll out and use as pizza dough, thin or thick you be the chef and top with your favorites . Bake 400 degrees till bubbly and done.
