I used to hate stuffing , why ? because it always tasted the same no matter where we went for dinner or had it on Thanksgiving. So a few years ago I decided to change that fact and see if I could make a stuffing that was tasty and the kids would like... Poof this worked and they gobble it up !
Honey Corn Bread Stuffing
Ingredients:
- (1) 8x8 Pan of Honey Corn Bread, cooked , cooled and cubed. I use the Martha White Brand of corn bread mix, and add about 1/2 cup of honey to the batter, and just before its done about 5 minutes I pour more honey on the top and let brown.
- 2 Cups of Sour Dough Bread Cubed ( day old is best)
- 1 Pound of Country Sausage Crumbles ( cooked and drained)
- 1 Cup of Finely Chopped Celery
- 1/2 Cup of White Onions Chopped
- 2 Cups of Apples Chopped ( no skins)
- 1 Cup of Pecans chopped - cource
- 1/8 cup of chopped Parsley
- 1 TBS Sage
- 1 TBS of Thyme
- 1 TBS White Pepper
- 1 TBS - Kosher Salt
- 2 Cups - Chicken Broth
Directions: Mix all ingredients till wet - don't over mix. Place in a greased pan and bake for 40 minutes till brown on top.
