🌀🚨🗣️OK...SO I'm seeing a lot of Floridians in the path of the this #HurricaneDorian concerns about the water shortage right now down there of stores only allowing like one case per person, concerns about finding storage containers etc etc...As someone who lived in Florida for 17 years and three kids ...I became very adapted to hurricane season.... Here's a few tips that I have for you that will save you from running out and buying all that water.
1️⃣. All those plastic containers you have things stored in go empty them into garbage bags clean out your containers there are what are they 11 gallons....fill them up and place them or place them first like in your kitchen in your laundry room in your bathrooms anywhere you can on your front porch in your garage place that's covered and start filling them with water.....That water comes in so handy for washing clothes doing dishes flushing toilets whatever you need on that level like that....You can keep the tops on them you can also line them with clean big garbage bags as well to prevent any leaking in case any of them have any little cracks..
2️⃣The next you're #drinking water get yourself some Ziploc gallon baggies start filling them up with water on the place them in your freezer flat to freeze as they defrost you have water to drink you also keep food in the freezer frozen....You can also take another one of those totes and you can fill those full of the plastic baggies of water You don't have to run out and get jugs to keep to fill up your tap water with for drinking water.... also if you have a deep freezer right now and it's not really full I'd remove the food and I'd start doing the big Ziploc gallon baggies of water layers in between items and clothes the lead You're creating ice in there and if the power goes out those ice blocks are going to keep things fresh and frozen for a while If you have to cook them and grill them as you're going but at least helps keep it cold instead of the automatic power just going off and there's no barriers....
3️⃣So that's my tip I'm getting prepared and getting your water ready right from where you are right now without having to run to the store or worry about buying gallons of water or trying to find containers to put water in....trust me head to your local stores a lot of people weren't buying those plastic totes right now they're all at the grocery store looking for bottled water.....
If you have a pool have empty buckets and use that to flush toilets also..
✅ Water like that came in really handy when you need to heat it up and bathe your kids and self as well and your kids when you had no power for days. ..
✅ My kids have #tough skin ...They got baths during hurricane season too that way...sometimes it might not have been the warmest but they got baths and their hair washed and you learned how to take bucket baths..
🌀Be Safe Florida ♥️
