I love the sleek clean look of the scale, so leaving it out on my counter is never an issue.

The set up is super easy - just remove it from the box and on the back has a battery storage area ( battery included) simply open it up and you will see a clear white plastic tab - just pull to remove that to engage the battery to the connector. Replace the cover and your ready to go. Please note this is a non-rechargeable battery so do not try to recharge it, you will have to replace it - you can find them in any major store or drug store. - when its time to change the battery it will display "Lo" to alert you - pretty simple huh!
On the front right side, simply press the on button, after a few seconds your will then see a reading of a 0. or a 0.00 appear, depending on the unity of measurements. Now you can change this unit reading to what you desire. . Simply press the " Unit" button on the left side.
One nice feature is if you place the container your item will be in ( empty ) on the scale. Press down on the on button to get the weight of the container. Then press the on button again to get that reading. Now just place your items in and weigh. You will get now the accurate weight of the item , minus the weight of the container. No having to weigh the container, remember then weigh item and subtract - it does it for you !
This Simple Health Global Food Scale is simple, straight forward easy to use. Design is pretty and clean looking and you can leave it out on your counters instead of hiding it like the old ugly scales from the past.
